telc B1 Sprechen: 3 Sample Exams with Model Dialogues (2026)

16. September 2026· 8 min read

By the Logami team. Built by German teachers, in the format of the official telc Deutsch B1 oral exam.

The speaking exam is the hardest part to prepare for on your own. You cannot rehearse a conversation alone, and many practice materials give you the task but not what a good answer sounds like. This page shows you both.

Below are three complete telc Deutsch B1 Sprechen samples. Each one has the exam sheets laid out like the real papers, a model dialogue between two candidates for every part, the phrases that carry the conversation, and a short tip for each part.

What the examiners score

  • Ausdrucksfähigkeit

    Range of expression

Do you get your message across with suitable words and sentences?

  • Aufgabenbewältigung

    Task completion

Do you do what the task asks, react to your partner and keep the conversation going fluently?

  • Formale Richtigkeit

    Accuracy

Grammar and sentence structure. Mistakes are fine as long as they do not block understanding.

  • Aussprache und Intonation

    Pronunciation and intonation

Can the examiners understand you without effort?

How to read the model dialogues

Candidate A speaks on the left, candidate B on the right, and the examiner's lines sit in the middle. The dialogues show what a good performance at this level looks like: clear, natural German that does exactly what the task asks, with both candidates reacting to each other.

Phrases marked like this are reusable. They work with almost any topic, so learn them as whole chunks and you will have something ready to say in your own exam. All topics, people and quotes are our own, and the portraits on the sheets are AI-generated.

Model dialogue

  1. Examiner

Vielen Dank.

  2. Sofia · Candidate A

  4. Sofia · Candidate A

Und was denkst du? Arbeitest du manchmal von zu Hause?

  5. Daniel · Candidate B

  6. Sofia · Candidate A

  8. Sofia · Candidate A

  9. Daniel · Candidate B

Das ist eine gute Idee. Vielleicht sollte meine Frau das auch probieren!

Model dialogue

  1. Examiner

Vielen Dank. Nun machen wir weiter mit Teil 3. Bitte planen Sie jetzt gemeinsam.

  2. Sofia · Candidate A

Also, unsere Freundin Ana zieht ja nächsten Monat um.

  3. Daniel · Candidate B

Samstag passt mir gut. Aber bitte nicht zu früh. Wie wäre es mit neun Uhr?

  4. Sofia · Candidate A

Einverstanden, um neun. Wer kann noch helfen? Zu zweit schaffen wir das nicht.

  5. Daniel · Candidate B

  6. Sofia · Candidate A

Super. Und wie transportieren wir die Sachen? Ana hat ja kein Auto.

  7. Daniel · Candidate B

  8. Sofia · Candidate A

Gute Idee, das übernehme ich. Ich habe einen Führerschein und kann fahren. Was machen wir mit Essen und Getränken?

  9. Daniel · Candidate B

Ich bringe Wasser und Kaffee mit. Und mittags könnten wir Pizza bestellen.

  10. Sofia · Candidate A

  12. Sofia · Candidate A

  14. Sofia · Candidate A

    Perfekt, so machen wir es!

How to practise with these samples

  1. Open the sheets for one sample and set a timer for 20 minutes, the same preparation time as in the exam. Make short notes, not full sentences.
  2. Play the conversation with a partner, then swap roles so you both practise A and B.
  3. Only now read the model dialogue. Which marked phrases could you have used?
  4. Do the same sample again a few days later with your own opinions and examples.
